Bhai Duj also known as “Bhai Dooj”, “Bhai Bij” and “Bhai Beej” in India. Bhai Bij is the fifth and last day of five day long Diwali celebration. In the “Bhai Duj”, the word “Bhai” means brother and “Duj” means Second as it falls on the second day after the Diwali  and new moon.

Brothers and Sisters celebrate their relationship, joy, love and feelings for each other on Bhai Bij.  Sister puts Tilak (Tika) on brother’s forehead, performs aarti, blesses him and prays for his brother’s well being.

Brother reciprocates with generous Bhaiduj gifts, blessing and promise to protect her.
